Research topics
  • Fuel Technology: use of sustainable (renewable) fuels, reduction of primary energy from fossil fuels, process chains for alternative fuels, primary measures to reduce pollutants in technical combustion
  • Energy Systems Technology: substitution of primary energy, composite systems with different energy types, evaluation and comparison methods for energy conversion and network systems
  • High-temperature production processes: reduction of process steps in order to decrease the amount of primary energy use, process intensication, increase of the recycling rate (e.g., scrap); closing of cycles with large mass flows
 
Consultant activities
  •  Expert for the working group on environmental research of the Science Council in the Federal Republic of Germany
  • Reviewer for the scientic and strategic evaluation of research centers at the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers (HGF) for the program "Sustainability and Technology", Research Center Karlsruhe (FZK);
  • Expert on the outlook committee at the Research Centre Karlsruhe (FZK
