For the IEVB investigation of solid fuels includes the following laboratory analysis (carried out according to German DIN standards):

1. Particle size distribution, sieve analysis (DIN 66165),

2. Proximate analysis:

  • Water (DIN 51718)
  • Ash (DIN 51719)
  • Volatile matter (DIN 51720)
  • Fixed carbon (calculation)

3. Elementary analysis:

  • Carbon (DIN 51721)
  • Hydrogen (DIN 51721)
  • Nitrogen (DIN 51722)
  • Sulphur (DIN 51724)
  • Chlorine (DIN 51727)
  • Oxygen (calculation)

4. Gross caloric value (GCV) and low caloric value (LCV) (DIN 51900)

5. Grindability according to Hardgrove (DIN 51742)

6. Ash fusibility behaviour (DIN 51730, May 1984)

7. Chemical ash composition (X-ray uorescence analysis, DIN 51001)
