The Institute for Energy Process Engineering and Fuel Technology (IEVB) at Clausthal University of Technology is currently staffed by two professorships. These are the professorship for Process Energy and Operational Energy Management and the professorship for Technical Thermodynamics and Energy Efficient Material Treatment.

The professorship of Process Energy and Operational Energy Management was awarded to Prof. Dr.-Ing. Roman Weber in 2001 and the professorship of Technical Thermodynamics and Energy Efficient Material Treatment was given to Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Dr. mont. Michael Fischlschweiger in 2019. Previously, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rudolf Jeschar had got the professorship of heat engineering and industrial furnace design until 1998 and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Reinhard Scholz had got the professorship of Technical Thermodynamics until 2008.

Since 2003 the institute has been directed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Roman Weber. He followed Prof. Dr.-Ing. Reinhard Scholz, who was the director of the institute from 1998 to 2003. Before that, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rudolf Jeshar was the director of the institute.
