At the IEVB, the scientific disciplines of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and reactive flows are combined to develop physics-based experimental and numerical methods that enable us, together with our partners, to design new sustainable products and processes within the context of the circular economy. To this end, state-of-the-art experimental and computational infrastructure is utilized. The IEVB’s research infrastructure is divided into three laboratories:
- Computer Laboratory, focusing on CFD and machine learning
- Materials Data Laboratory, focusing on energy and material transformations
- Process Engineering Laboratory, focusing on energy process engineering
