Research focuses on the sustainable design and optimization of energy-efficient processes and systems for the sustainable provision and rational use of thermal energy. The topics covered reflect a broad, interdisciplinary approach

The research focuses on the following areas:

  • Fundamentals and improvement of convective heat transfer
  • Optimization and design of process equipment and systems for energy-related processes

Application Areas

  • Development of processes for CO2-neutral thermochemical material conversion
  • Adaptation and optimization of heat pump systems

 

Current Research Focus:

  • Basic research in the field of experimental and theoretical heat transfer, particularly in multiphase flows
  • Experimental and numerical studies on NOx formation in hydrogen flames
  • Development of models for the design of methane pyrolysis reactors
